Walsingham has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries and is commonly considered “England’s Nazareth”. Today the Shrine complex welcomes over 10,000 residential pilgrims each year. In addition, a further 300,000 visitors visit Walsingham each year to find out more about one of England’s most religious locations.

The requirement
Walsingham College Trust Association Ltd’s initial requirement was for a brand new centrally managed IT infrastructure. This later extended to wireless internet access across their geographically diverse site, which includes medieval buildings, a new refectory and retail shop.
The solution
We first began working with Walsingham College Trust Association Ltd around 8 years ago and installed a completely new IT infrastructure including a traditional network. Since then, we have provided a wireless network solution across their site and recently updated their core infrastructure by replacing their end-of-life servers with new hardware and software, making use of latest technologies including Terminal Services and Thin Clients to help control IT expenditure and improve flexibility in the future.
